Arrowsmith and the Beaufort Range running down the centre of Vancouver Island, the Nanoose climate is mild with moderate temperatures and lies within by the rare Garry Oak ecosystem. The Ranch lies within a beautiful valley with dogwoods, oaks, arbutus, douglas fir and big leaf maple trees.
The property is 145 acres which is made up of 55 acres of woodlands and 90 acres of pasture and hay fields. It was carved out of the wilderness in 1891. The E & N Railway runs right through the middle of the property as it used to be used to ship products to Victoria right off the farm.
